Operation Eyesight Universal
Operation Eyesight Universal is an international development organization dedicated to eliminating avoidable blindness. The organization was founded in Canada in 1963 and works primarily in South East Asia and Africa. OEU works in close partnership with local medical professionals and governments to develop permanent, self-sustaining, quality blindness prevention and sight restoration programs for people in greatest need. They model and support eye care services at community, district, provincial and national levels and promote the integration of eye care within pubic health care systems. In Africa, OEU currently supports a wide range of projects by providing financial and planning assistance for, infrastructure development and improvement, equipment and supplies acquisition, and human resource and management systems development.
